[dropcap]G[/dropcap]aining weight is a problem for most people in modern society. Magazines and TV have told us that the only way you’re going to be accepted is to be thin, toned, and in great shape.

If you’re a glob of fat, nobody will take you seriously, and especially not in your work place.

The only way to get anywhere in life is to get your butt dieting, exercising, and eating right.

But why are you gaining weight in the first place? Are there specific reasons? And how do you fix your habits once you discover what’s causing your gain in weight?

Here are 3 of the most common reasons for massive weight gain:

#1 Inactivity

If your given day, think about how long you’ve sat down or just simply did nothing. While at work, you sit down for roughly 6 hours per day. His is out of your control, obviously, but it still adds up.

You can’t exactly go lifting weights and running on the treadmill at work, but sitting down for 10 hours per day is contributing to your gain in weight, and you might not even know it.

How can you fix it? A number of ways.

For one, your lunch break is usually an hour long, and it doesn’t take anyone an entire hour to eat a meal. You can use this time to go on a 20-minute walk or jog, and even do some light lifting during this time to get your blood flowing.

Studies have shown that light activity once per day is enough to reduce your risk of heart disease by up to 50%.

#2 – Poor Food Choices

You already know that fast food and the like are terrible for you. But in addition to that, you’re probably eating a ton of food that you don’t even know is bad for you.

Things like processed food, artificial preservatives, and unnatural meat are things that will contribute to your weight gain.

If you eat organic food with no artificial junk in it, you’re much less likely to gain weight because you’ll be filled on real food, and real food has less calories in it.
